About the project

We focused on three strategic pillars:

1. Personalized Guidance — Offer recommended actions based on each user’s device setup and protection status to help them strengthen their security

2. Simplified Flows — Reduce friction with clear, minimal interfaces and purposeful interactions

3. Design System Alignment — Build within Verizon’s existing design system while pushing it where necessary to accommodate new components and interactions

I collaborated closely with cross-functional teammates and Verizon stakeholders to iterate quickly and align on experience goals. This includes the creation of ground-up service flows and landing experiences within the app; designing hundreds of net-new screens that defined how users discover, enroll in, and manage digital protection.

Verizon Protect
The solution

Built upon the existing product, the Protect app now offers enhanced security features and even more services with the introduction of Verizon's new premium subscription, Identity Secure. The new scalable system allows customers to easily navigate between services and subscriptions, while paving the path for future growth.

With a focus on personalization, scalability, and contextual clarity, it ensures peace of mind by delivering real-time updates, relevant alerts for potential threats or breaches, and actionable steps to resolve them effectively.

Results

As one of eight designers on the Verizon Digital Secure app redesign (now Verizon Protect), I played a key role in prototyping, visual design, and user testing efforts. The app, now live on the App Store and Google Play, serves over 36 million users and continues to grow. While the project is ongoing, the enhancements are projected to attract new customers, driving revenue, and expanding Verizon's market presence in digital security solutions.
